This approach in therapy takes into account our internal world i.e. thoughts, feelings and emotions, how we see ourselves from the inside as well as our external world how we interact and relate to others particularly our family. We are all part of many systems and the most fundamental is our family whatever form that takes for us. The therapist using this approach takes into account the context of that person’s life their communications patterns and interactions with others as well as their internal relationship with themselves. One does not have to be part of a family or couple to attend this form of therapy.
